Donkeys
Maggie
Maggie is a mini donkey that came to us after her life long llama friend passed over the rainbow bridge. Her owners, being older themselves, were ready to move on to their next stage in life and wanted to find a new home for Maggie.
Maggie was not used to many other farm animals but has quickly adjusted. She has found her new best friend in Mira ~ The Miracle Horse. The two of them can be seen free roaming the 27 acres and visiting their many friends along the way.
Maggie absolutely adores humans and enjoys a good grooming. Her favourite time is when her most special human Noelle comes to visit. Noelle brings treats, gives a good groom and even sings her songs.
Maggie isn't too shy in letting you know when more love and attention is needed and her bray can be heard from across the farm.

DONKEY FUN FACTS
1. Are Donkeys Really Stubborn? donkeys aren’t stubborn—they’re just very smart and super cautious. In fact, they’ve got an excellent memory. Research shows they can remember places and other donkeys for over 25 years. So next time a donkey hesitates, it’s probably thinking things through (and not trying to ruin your day).
2. Can't teach an old dog new tricks? Maybe not, but you can train a donkey - They respond well to positive reinforcement, like treats, rubs, and encouraging words. It just takes a little time, trust, and patience. With a strong bond, donkeys will surprise you with how much they can learn!
3. Donkeys can see all four of their feet at the same time, a unique ability among equids.
4. Donkeys long ears aren't just for cute looks - they can hear another donkey braying up to 60 miles aways! I guess the Jacks can't claim they didn't hear their Jenny asking for something!
