Guard Animals
CLEVER SAYING COMING
Farm Squad
While these furry family members are not ALL rescue animals for the sanctuary, they are the best guard animals and family companions.

Nala
Nala did not come from a rescue, but was part of an accidental litter. Being the runt, she was the last one there and we fell in love with her right away. Boy are we glad we did. Nala is

the most loving dog. She not only gets along with all people and animals of all sorts, she truly cares for them. You can often see her cuddling or grooming the other dogs and cats, but even better, she does this with our bunnies as well. She has even carried baby bunnies oh so gently in her mouth to show them around the yard. She then places then down carefully, gives them a bath and lets them go on their way back to mom.
Luna
Luna was 11 months old when we adopted her from the SPCA. Full of spunk, she definitely caught the attention of our busy family. She was quite a handful,
but now at 12 years young, she is a terrific farm helper. Don't let her age fool you, she still acts like a puppy and can out zoomy or long distance run any of our other animals! Luna is the boss of

the farm and makes sure to keep the other dogs and cats in line. She can often be seen sitting at the table enjoying dinner with us and is a very polite dinner guest.
Mona
Mona, our sweet Bernedoodle, came to us when she was 8 weeks old. Mona is not a rescue, but she did in a way rescue Nala. Nala had recently had a
devastating life event of having both of her puppies being stillborn. Nala was in a very deep state of grief. Mona managed to help pull her out of that and the 2 are the sweetest things together. Mona

is a special needs pup and needs lots of extra attention but is very loyal to who she considers the pack leader (our President, Jane). While Mona still needs training around bunnies and chickens, she is an excellent helper with the ducks and is awesome at herding the horses back into their pens at night after enjoying the day free roaming on the 27 acres.
Beastie
Beastie came to us as a rescue when he found he wasn't fitting in with his family. There were some safety concerns with this little man and needed to come to a home where everyone loved him. Beastie

is hesitant with new people, particularly males but warms up really quick to the ladies (go figure!). Being a Toy Aussie, it's in his blood to farm it up! He is an excellent
herding dog and joins Mona in helping up get the animals all in at night. He is a goofy little guy that loves water and farm life. He has become a companion for Graycie and Leo (see the cats section below) and a nice playmate for Luna as well.
