Dementia
Dementia originally came to our sanctuary for temporary foster care but it didn't take long for us to fall completely in love with this beautiful old gal and we just had to adopt her. Dementia has taken on the nickname Larry (not sure where that came from ~ ask the kids)! Dementia decided to move in with the rabbits and has been very broody. She offers to sit on the eggs of all the hens and gently gathers them under her.
Dementia does come out to say hello when people are around as she knows it usually means extra food and she likes to offer a big hug.
When not broody, Dementia can be seen sharing water with the rabbits, offering guidance and protection to younger turkeys and chickens and showing off her beautiful turkey feathers.
JACKSON 5
Dimentia isn't our only turkey at the sanctuary ~ she is kept company by the Jackson 5 little turkeys in training.
Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon & Michael all know how to put on a performance and have quite the songs to sing to any visitors, especially those with treats for them! Turkeys LOVE fruits, seeds and insects - yum!
